In our world we need to laugh more and empower people to do so. Laughter and humor is not only good for the soul, it’s good for business.
The Original Mary Poppins had a character named Uncle Albert. Bert, the children and Mary Poppins were summoned to Uncle Albert’s home because he was, “doing it again.” Uncle Albert was played by longtime character actor, Ed Wynn.
Upon arrival to Uncle Albert’s house the group found him floating across the ceiling laughing and singing. Then they all joined and sang the song, “I Love to Laugh”.
One of the signs of a healthy individual is their level of laughter. Uncle Albert didn’t take himself too seriously. He had the ability to laugh and it was contagious, so contagious everyone was on the ceiling in the middle of the scene/song.
The ability to laugh at yourself and with others is an amazing force of human emotion. People who laugh have less stress. Studies abound in the positive results of laughter. There are countless stories of people with chronic health issues who were able to regain their health and strength through medicine, but also through humor. Humor releases all kinds of good and positive chemicals into our bloodstreams. Google it!
In our world we need to laugh more and empower people to do so. Laughter and humor is not only good for the soul, it’s good for business. We need to laugh more and laugh with NOT at each other.
So try it! Let’s place value on laughter in the workplace!
