Mr. Smith Asks About Basic Pest Control
We moved into our house a little over a year ago and there are little bugs here and there can you take care of that?
Mr. Smith we sure can! What kind of bugs are you seeing?
One or two spiders, a dead brown roach in the bathroom and some ants in the kitchen.
Is it a big, or small roach? Those big brown ones like the one on its back is probably an American, or oriental roach, also called a Palmetto Bug in the Carolinas. Fortunately, that is a really easy problem to eliminate. Let me explain of we do service, Mr. Smith.
Yes please do!
We provide four-way pest control on each home. It is a four-way service for three reasons:
- The service coincides with the four seasons of the year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) so we adjust our service accordingly. It’s not static, but changes to meet the specific pest demands of a particular season.
- It is necessary to service all four areas of your house: inside, outside, topside, and the underside. These are all areas where insects can live, breed, or harborage. We take it to them we don’t wait for them to come to us.
- When we come we treat your home on four regular service visits a year, one per every three months.
What if we have a problem in between service intervals?
We offer a 365-day guarantee so any problems between your regularly scheduled service intervals are taken care of. Call us and we return at no additional charge. Allow 24-48 hours for us to respond because we schedule our technicians per routes and we will fit you in and come back out and treat that targeted pest with which you seem to be having a problem.
What do you treat?
When the technician comes to your house and begins treating inside they will begin treating all cracks and crevices where insects live and entry points. They will treat in the kitchen area around the stove, any plumbing under the sink or sources of condensation such as under the dishwasher, refrigerator and sink plumbing. This is an effort to address food and water locations for pests and bugs. They will treat your laundry and bathrooms around pipes, all of your windows and doors where bugs can enter, live and harborage.
Are the chemicals dangerous, smelly, or harmful?
No, everything is EPA certified and the products are completely safe for your family and pets. There is no odor and the products we use inside to have a very long-lasting residual. Once it’s down it lasts a long time.
Where else do you treat?
The technician will go outside with a broom and walk around the perimeter of the house, sweep eaves, doorways, and windows to eliminate spider webs and where they are nesting outside the home. A spider is a predator and it feeds on other insects. When you eliminate their food source it helps control the spider population which is why we do thorough sweep and inspection outside.
Once done sweeping, the tech is going to treat the outside. He will walk around your residence and treat around all windows, doorways, eaves, and an outside perimeter going 3 feet up your walls and three feet out from the home. A good perimeter control on the outside eliminates roaches and other bugs from coming inside.
If you have a crawl space, the technician will inspect it and treat it for spiders, silverfish, roaches, ants, and more. A powder is applied that dissipates better than liquid in a crawl space.
What if I have mice in my attic?
He will inspect the attic for evidence of the presence of mice, or other pests including roaches, and more. He will treat the attic accordingly.
Once the tech is done you will be finished until your next quarterly service appointment. After the initial interior service, it is much less likely you will need another application because of the residual nature of the chemical and it’s lifecycle. If you do have a problem with ants, roaches, mice, rats, or other pests in between service intervals we can reenter the home take care of the problem at no additional cost Mr. Smith. We would love to provide value-added service to your property if you are interested.
